About the role

Lost & Found is a five-hour, open-world puzzle adventure set across an 1860s heritage village. Performers sustain character for up to 200 guests, build one-to-one relationships, guide puzzle discoveries without breaking immersion, and carry layered emotional arcs through an unpredictable day.

What you will do

Memorize and perform scripted scenes off book; improvise responsively with players; integrate puzzle mechanics into character interactions; maintain narrative continuity; create active participation; collaborate with cast, directors, game designers, stage management, and venue partners; and assist with setup, resets, closing, and guest safety.

What we are looking for

Two to three years of performance experience, strong improvisation or immersive-event experience, customer-service confidence, weekend availability, comfort working outdoors in changing weather, and eligibility to work in Canada.

Characters

Lydia Lancaster - the idealist schoolteacher

Playing age 25-35; female-presenting. Warm, articulate, and grounded. Requires emotional accessibility, confident small-group facilitation, and the ability to move between public composure and private vulnerability.

Beatrice Boone - the razor-sharp journalist

Playing age 25-45; female-presenting. Quick, observant, and incisive. Requires verbal agility, improvisational debate, crowd control through language, and subtle narrative steering.

Daniel Doyle - the perpetual apprentice

Playing age 18-28; male-presenting. Earnest, restless, and impulsive. Requires vulnerability, charm, physical workshop confidence, and controlled emotional escalation.

Wilhelmina Wilde - the village mystic

Playing age 30-60; female-presenting. Still, grounded, and quietly powerful. Requires deliberate pacing, intimate one-to-one work, symbolic language, and clear puzzle guidance.

Dorothy Dunn - the resilient innkeeper

Playing age 20-30; female-presenting. Witty, grounded, and sharp. Requires hosting energy, fluid large-group management, comedic timing, and emotional restraint.

Eli Ellsworth - the farmer on the edge

Playing age 40-65; male-presenting. Stubborn, heartfelt, and eccentric. Requires physical comedy, improvisational stamina, rural physicality, and emotional truth.

Perry Pike - the clockmaker and inventor

Playing age 30-55; open gender. Curious, distracted, and intense. Requires eccentric charm, prop confidence, puzzle leadership, and escalating theories without caricature.

Gideon Goodwin - the banker and strategist

Playing age 20-30; male-presenting. Measured, persuasive, and composed. Requires gravitas, charm, structured guest leadership, persuasive debate, and subtle manipulation within improv.

Hollis Hampton - the historian

Playing age 30-45; male-presenting. Gentle, contemplative, and quietly passionate. Requires strong storytelling, document-based discovery work, and emotional subtlety.

Alex Aldrich - the constable

Playing age 30-45; open gender. Formal, vigilant, and tightly wound. Requires authority without intimidation, physical presence, and a gradual shift from rigid seriousness to thoughtful warmth.

Audition

Submit a performance resume, non-performance work history, headshot, and a 60-90 second unlisted YouTube self-tape speaking to camera as an 1860s village character. You may interpret more than one role. Cast members may be asked to learn multiple roles.
