2017 was another step forward for us here at Secret City Adventures. Looking back isn’t something that we do too often so we thought this year we’d do something a little different. Here’s a survey that some of our busy team members took the time to respond to.  Secret City Passport

What was your most memorable experience with the company this year?

Nick (Designer): “Black Creek launch, Garage kickoff” (**Editor’s Note: this is our latest game in development, little info is currently available on it, but you can reserve your tickets with the Secret City Passports available in our Shop.)

Scott (Manager of Operations at Escape Casa Loma): “Playing ‘Secret of Station House #4’ – that’s a really rad game!”

Karen (Graphic Designer): “Puzzle Pumpkin! It was messy, fun and a good brainstorming session”

Braydon (Producer & Game Designer): “I wasn’t involved in the development of ‘Where Dark Things Dwell’ experience at Black Creek Pioneer Village, so playing the game was a gratifying experience. It felt amazing to see what an incredible game my colleagues made. I felt in awe of their skill and creativity.”

Aviva (Executive Comm. Assistant): “Joining the team in October and meeting everyone! Accomplishing my tasks, and experiencing all the games for the first time with friends and family”

Kevin (Game Designer): “Creating and launching “Where Dark Things Dwell” at Black Creek, launching the official Murdoch Mysteries game ‘The Secret of Station House #4’ and remastering ‘Escape from the Tower’ at Casa Loma”

Melanie (Front of House Manager): “Interacting with customers regularly and getting to hear the positive feedback from them!”

Izzy (Marketing Intern): “Our large-scale, cross-country tour for the ‘Legend of Zelda: Defenders of the Triforce Puzzle Adventure’!!! Also when Patricia Somerset (voice of Zelda) and I went back to back for the fans”

Melanie's Vacation in Rome

What was your most memorable and personal experience this year?

Melanie: “Vacation! It cost an arm and a leg, but I went to Barcelona which was pretty stellar”

Scott: “Moving back from London, England to Canada and getting to revisit all the cool new games!”

Braydon: “It’s going to sound silly, but Playing “The Legend of Zelda: The Breath of the Wild” was definitely a highlight this year. What a fabulous game! It’s a stunning achievement – a zenith of game design. I feel inspired just remembering it.”

Aviva: “Visiting places on my travel lists such as Boston, East Coast Canada and Nashville!”

Izzy: Going Snapchat viral and the price of my Bitcoin and Ethereum holdings going waaaaay up!”

Bitcoin

If you could go back to January 1st 2017, what would you tell your past self?

Izzy: Don’t doubt yourself. Speak your mind! Make those Snapchats! Keep buying BTC and ETH and HODL!! (reddit joke)”
