From exploring the secrets of Casa Loma and Black Creek Pioneer Village, to cryptic puzzle rooms, to stepping into the world of Murdoch Mysteries, we’ve got something for you. Unmask a secret society, research time travel, go back in time throughout a historic village at night or through the tunnels and up the towers of an iconic castle. At every corner there is a story, puzzle or clue – just look closer, ask the right questions, stay curious, and you’ll uncover new worlds of adventure.

Our Latest Adventures

As part of our continuing vision to evolve the escape game format, we’ve partnered with Murdoch Mysteries and Black Creek Pioneer Village to bring you two brand new adventures.

The Secret of Station House No. 4 brings the hit TV show, Murdoch Mysteries, to real-life for the first time! Fans have the chance to experience everything they love about the show and step into the shoes of Toronto’s best-known detective from the turn of the century.

Where Dark Things Dwell is a revolutionary new game – unlike most traditional escape rooms, the game is not set in one locked space but takes place across the whole village. Running at dusk and into the night, players get to explore multiple buildings throughout Black Creek Pioneer Village, including the post office, school house and mill.

Escape Casa Loma

The Casa Loma Escape Series launched in 2015 as Canada’s first theatrical escape games. With live actors and a full sound and set design, these games boast unique immersive escape game experiences with historic storylines.  Set in Toronto’s iconic landmark, Casa Loma, you’ll discover a world you never knew!

Real Escape Game

We run Real Escape Games as part of our continuing collaboration with the original Japanese creators of escape rooms, Scrap Entertainment! Today, over 10,000,000 participants have played these games in Japan, China, Taiwan, Singapore, and the United States. Tickets for the games in Canada are available exclusively through us.

The puzzles created for Real Escape Game are notoriously difficult, so whether you’re a first time player or an escape room enthusiast, you’ll need to work hard if you want to escape!

Frequently Asked Questions

Toronto has so many escape rooms - what makes yours the best?

Here at Secret City Adventures, we are pioneers in theatrical escape games and immersive experiences in Toronto! Our exclusive collaborations with Casa Loma, Murdoch Mysteries, Black Creek Pioneer Village and Real Escape Game from Japan means we run experiences you can’t get anywhere else.

Our puzzles, storylines and game mechanics are written by award-winning creators with backgrounds in science-fiction and comic-book writing as well as stage, film and alternate reality gaming. We don’t just put you in a room – blending fact with fiction and gaming with theatre, we push the boundaries of storytelling by making our players the protagonists and the heroes in exciting races against the clock.

I’ve never played an escape game before - what should I expect?

Don’t worry, you get a full introduction before each game and a host to answer any questions. For most of our games, players are confined in a themed-room filled with puzzles and clues that they can use to ‘escape’ from the room. Other games like Where Dark Things Dwell allow you to explore more than one room.

Once you’ve played one of games, you’ll want to try them all!

Who should I play with?

Our escape games are suitable for most ages, although we set a minimum age of 10 and recommend most games for those aged 13 or older. Typically players book as part of a group and bring friends, family or even co-workers, but if you can’t fill the whole game we’ll match you with other players to complete the group.

Can I have a private party or team building event?

Private bookings are welcome – our escape games are great for celebrating special occasions or team building events. Just visit our our party or team building pages for more details on how we can welcome your group.
